Ok, "hate" may be a strong word. Let's at least go with "strongly, strongly, vehemently dislike" After all, there is no shortage of reasons. For Oakland fans, it is this. For Arizona fans, it is this. For Boston fans, well - take your pick.
And for the rest of us? There is this. That's right. Minka Kelly - of Friday Night Lights and, more recently, (500) Days of Summer, fame - is off the market. If the New York Post's Page 6 is to be believed, Mr. November has claimed Ms. Kelly has his latest prize. Gentlemen, start your weeping (and cursing Jeter's name).
I can't say fall nuptials are likely, though. The way the Yankees are playing, The Captain may be booked well in to November.
Sorry, some reasons didn't make the front page. For San Diego fans, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1998_World_Series. For Lou Gehrig fans, http://www.nj.com/yankees/index.ssf/2009/09/derek_jeter_watch_strikes_out.html.
ReplyDeleteI'm done now.
The Minka Kelly thing alone is enough. Who was he dating beforehand? Jessica Biel or someone? Ugh
ReplyDeleteOf course that's not nearly as bad as this abomination of a couple. (Coincidence that she can be found in photos with Jeter? I think not... he is like 6 degrees of separation from all things infuriating)
6 degrees of separation from all things infuriating. I couldn't have said it better myself!
ReplyDeleteDAMNIT!
ReplyDeleteI had a great article listing Jeter's conquests, but I can't find it anymore.
He didn't have just Jessica Biel, he had her and Jessica Alba - dood just wins.
Who wins at life more? Derek Jeter or Shawne Merriman?
ReplyDeleteJeter - not even a contest. Tila Tequila cannot be mentioned in the same notes as those that Jeter's been with, and even a possible foursome with her and others gives you nothing.
ReplyDeleteFor all we know, Jeter's had a foursome with 3 exes at one point, but is too classy to have it end like Merriman's did. If he hasn't, I'm pretty sure he could pull it off without much work.
PS Jeter's also won something...
Woah woah woah - the "Jeter's also won something comment" was a LOW BLOW. Now you've gone too far, sir
ReplyDeleteAgree with you about Tila and friends though... Aaron I'm all for homerism, but you're just talkin nonsense now
Sure as hell was; it's nice receiving such a low blow from a Niners fan, eh? Really brings you down to earth...
ReplyDeleteAnd this is after you brought up Ryan Leaf! Are you trying to kill us??
ReplyDeleteIf Derek Jeter was on the Padres, I would love him like I love Tony Gwynn, but he's on the Yankees so I hate him more than any other baseball player (because I am forced to begrudgingly respect him as a talented, home-grown, team player).
ReplyDeleteAs a Padres fan, you can't appreciate hate like a Giants fan. True hatred is seen in a Giants fan's feelings towards David Eckstein (followed closely by the rally monkey - seriously, WTF?!?!?!?!!?).
ReplyDeleteAnd yes - I enjoy bringing up fun stories from the SD sports scene to get a reaction out of you two...
