Music Tuesdays - Party on Fifth Ave by Mac Miller

  1. A lighthearted party song... I defy you not to bop your head just a little bit as you hear it.

  2. I like the song...but I'm a little confused by the video. It was young people dressed up as old people acting like young people. You need old people acting like young people or young people acting like old people. Not young people in costume acting just like they always do.

Was there something in the lyrics I didn't catch that would explain this? Or something about Fifth Ave?

  3. Definitely a head-bopper, but that's 95% due to the music (lyrics didn't give me much). Satisfies the lighthearted party song you note really well.

    2.5/5 Happy Faces.

  4. Haha I have no idea, and this is a great point. Confusing concept.

Actually when I first heard this song I liked it slightly less before I saw the youth of the kid Mac Miller who made it, and then I came around on it kind of representing the prototypical 'young person party anthem', kind of in the vein of the Beastie Boy's "You've Gotta Fight For Your Right". The song doesn't take itself too seriously.
