Music Tuesdays - When My Train Pulls In by Gary Clark Jr
That is a rocking performance (thanks to KCRW for recording it). Actually what would you say: is this more rock, more blues, or just bluesy rock?

But we'll sure as hell talk about it anyways...
There is a strong Jimi Hendrix vibe here. Every time I hear the guitar riff which begins the song, I hear in my head, "I'm standing next a mountain... chop it down with the back of my hand".
ReplyDeleteAnyway, Gary Clark Jr can flat out jam on the guitar.
LOVED the guitar. Totally agree with the strong Jimi Hendrix vibe. His voice was good and I didn't really have a problem with the lyrics, but overall, I did not like the singing at all. I would like this song more with no singing.
